Re-Imagining U is up and running for fall 2022.
Registration is open on a wide range of topics from an introduction to new technology to self-care to leadership skills, as well as the following:
- UNMC’s Jaqueline Hankins-Berry will give a presentation on “Implementation of AUCD’s Inclusion Initiatives.” Hankins-Berry, of the Munroe-Meyer Institute, was selected earlier this year for a term as an inclusion coach by the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. On Oct. 26 from noon to 1 p.m., she will explore ways to implement inclusion initiatives in people’s personal and professional lives. The AUCD is a resource for local, state, national and international agencies, organizations and policy makers concerned about people living with developmental and other disabilities and their families.
- Ali Khan, MD, MPH, dean of the UNMC College of Public Health, will discuss “Reclaiming Science in a Polorized Society” on Nov. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dr. Khan will examine science literacy, misinformation and disinformation in society. He will discuss how “alternative” facts undermine public health, societal cohesion and personal and planetary health.
- On Dec. 15 from noon to 1 p.m., expert Damien Coran will discuss “nearpod” – a popular choice for classrooms, distance education, hybrid learning environments, presentations and meetings. It allows users to easily incorporate activities like open-ended questions, sketching tools and polls, all in one platform. Nearpod also integrates seamlessly with technologies like Canvas, PowerPoint and Office 365 to save time and effort. The session will show how to access and use Nearpod.
