Tope Banwo, DO, is a house officer in the UNMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and human of UNMC:
“When I started medical school, I never imagined that I would end up in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology. It was never an area of interest. During my third year, I did a rotation probably halfway through the year in OB-GYN, and by day three, I was sold and knew I was meant for this specialty.
“I loved that it was fast-paced, procedural and full of variety on a day-to-day basis. However, my favorite thing about it was being able to educate and empower women in their health decisions while also validating and being a source of support during vulnerable times. It’s extremely fulfilling, and I am so glad I get to pursue this career here at UNMC.”
