Nada Fadul, MD, to discuss work in Sudan

Nada Fadul, MD

Nada Fadul, MD, professor in the UNMC Division of Infectious Diseases, will be the featured speaker for September’s Child Health Research Institute Global Health Principal Investigator Seminar Series.

Dr. Fadul will discuss her current work in Sudan in her presentation, titled “Improving Interprofessional Community Engagement in Sudan using Project ECHO: A Virtual Global Health Approach.”  

The event scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16, from 9-10 a.m. via Zoom. Registration is available online.   

Dr. Fadul also is assistant dean of diversity, equity and inclusion education programs in the UNMC College of Medicine and medical director of the UNMC’s Specialty Care Center.

She completed her medical degree from the University of Khartoum-Faculty of Medicine in Sudan and subsequently completed her training in the United States. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, authored and coauthored several abstracts and book chapters, presented her research at national and international meetings and mentored several students and trainees. She served on the leadership development and the awards committees of the national HIV Medical Association, serves as an Infectious Diseases Society of America advocacy liaison and was chosen to join the inaugural IDSA Leadership Institute.

Dr. Fadul’s main interests are the management, quality-of-life issues and health disparities in people living with HIV/AIDS. 

The quarterly CHRI Global Health Principal Investigator Seminar Series highlights the work of global health investigators at CHRI/UNMC in a forum where researchers with similar areas of expertise and interests can discuss their work and potential collaborations.
