Dunkin’ Donuts has closed on the UNMC campus

The Dunkin’ Donuts located on the fourth floor of Wittson Hall has permanently closed.

The franchise, which opened in the UNMC location almost a year ago, recently notified UNMC leaders of their decision. UNMC already is looking for new options for the space, said Rick Boldt, senior manager in the UNMC Office of Business and Finance.

Coffee and food options remain available to faculty, staff and students via on-campus cafeterias, coffee carts, convenience stores and cafes. Visit the Sodexo website for complete menu options and to confirm retail service hours.

Sad to see them go. I think a Vic's popcorn franchise might be a great addition for the space.

So sad!! I know they were having trouble staffing but they definitely were always busy!

Sorrell Center C-Store is open for snacks and drinks! Tres is the best!!

Honestly, we went there more for the breakfast food than the coffee—perhaps a more food-focused place for breakfast and lunch options.

It's unfortunate as most of the coffee/food options on campus close by 3. So Dunkin still had late afternoon but nothing like UNL being open until midnight. Not surprised they closed as it's not a super visible location.

Maybe a local coffee shop would be interested in the spot

Really hoping another coffee shop, either business or local takes the spot. I work on the 4th floor and got my coffee there every morning.

I think it would be nice to focus on having healthier options – hopefully supporting the "wellness" efforts of students and employees are told they should eat healthy – but then are hard pressed to find those options where they spend most of their time! And I agree with the recommendation below that supporting a local business would be great!

Darn! I liked their iced tea.

Popcorn would be great. A Juice Stop/smoothie place would be fantastic.

    Something local please.

I think it would be wonderful if you offered this space to a local coffee shop, particularly one that actively hires people with disabilities, particularly developmental disabilitites. Could be a nice job training site and partnership with MMI.

    Put a Scooters in there!
