Jennifer Larsen, MD, to join search committee for dentistry dean
Jennifer Larsen, MD, vice chancellor for research at UNMC, will join the search committee for the new UNMC College of Dentistry dean.
UNMC’s Bradley Britigan, MD, dean of the UNMC College of Medicine, will chair the committee, which includes representation from the medical center, as well as other leaders and dental professionals across Nebraska.
College of Dentistry Dean Janet Guthmiller, DDS, PhD, will become dean of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry this fall.
Wendy Wells recognized as certified wellness practitioner
Wendy Wells, College of Nursing West Nebraska Division population health and leadership instructor, recently was recognized as a certified wellness practitioner by the National Wellness Institute’s Council on Wellness Certification Excellence. The institute is the only nationally recognized certification program for health promotion and wellness professionals in the United States.
The designation shows demonstrated expertise in the dimensions of wellness and competence in health and wellness promotion programming through their academic backgrounds, work expertise and commitment to professional development.
Those with the certification use wellness models and interventions in partnership with individuals and populations, foster intrinsic motivation, empower others to engage in wellness-promoting activities and create wellness-enhancing environments.
