Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in an all-campus forum with UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, on Thursday, June 2, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
Dr. Gold will be joined online by three guests:
- Anne Barnes, UNMC’s new vice chancellor for business, finance and business development;
- Charlotte Evans, chief of police and associate vice chancellor for the UNO/UNMC Department of Public Safety; and
- Mark Rupp, MD, chief of the UNMC Division of Infectious Diseases and Nebraska Medicine's medical director of epidemiology and infection control.
The campus will have the opportunity to learn more about Barnes, who joins UNMC after serving as senior associate dean for administration and finance at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
Attendees will hear more about campus safety, in response to the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas; and current increases in COVID-19 transmission and test positivity rates, as well as reports of the monkeypox outbreak.
Attendees may view the forum online via Zoom. An American Sign Language interpreter will take part in the event.
