On Friday, May 20, the UNMC Department of Surgery will host Dr. Joseph C. Stothert Day with virtual events throughout the day.
"Dr. Stothert is remembered for his compassion and commitment to his family, excellence in patient care, his medical training and education and service to the city of Omaha," said event organizer Charity Evans, MD, an associate professor and chief of the division of acute care surgery in the UNMC Department of Surgery.
Virtual events will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include presentations on burnout, the importance of community in healing, rural trauma, gun safety and sex trafficking, among others.
