The College of Dentistry community shares a passion for improving children's lives through oral health. Throughout the year, we come together to provide much-needed dental care for children throughout Nebraska. Following are highlights of our Spring 2022 patient care outreach events.
Children's Dental Days
Throughout March and April, College of Dentistry dental students, pediatric dentistry residents, faculty and staff provided free dental care to low-income and underserved children from across Nebraska. The students and residents greatly appreciated the rewarding, hands-on learning experiences. The children and parents were grateful for the opportunity and left with big smiles.
- Columbus Children – 23 patients treated
- Crete Children – 26 patients treated, 146 procedures completed valued at $22,534
- Hastings & Grand Island Children – 11 patients treated, 92 procedures completed valued at $13,143

Sealant Program
In April, the College of Dentistry's West Division Dental Hygiene Program provided free preventative dental care to children in second – sixth grades at Minatare Elementary and Banner County. The children received dental screenings, sealants and fluoride treatments.
