Share feedback on UNMC’s strategic plan by Thursday

A draft of UNMC’s strategic plan for academic years 2023-2026 is available for review by the UNMC community through Thursday, March 31.

UNMC students, staff and faculty can provide input, including suggested revisions to the specific goals and strategies. Feedback and recommendations will be reviewed prior to revision, discussion and final approval of the updated plan by the Chancellor's Council.

The plan outlines eight overarching goals: Educational learner focus; research scope and prominence; clinical excellence; community engagement; diversity, equity and inclusivity; economic development; organizational culture; and organizational leadership.

Breakthrough Thinking is today at 9:30 a.m.

UNMC will continue its Breakthrough Thinking Conference Series today with online presentations focused on gender inclusion in the workplace and the changing landscape of higher education today.

Open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students, the thought-provoking discussion will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon and feature:

Nathan Grawe, PhD, the Ada M. Harrison Distinguished Teaching Professor of the Social Sciences and professor of economics at Carleton College, discussing "Navigating Demographic Change in Higher Education."
Brad Johnson, PhD, and David Smith, PhD, discussing "Leveraging Male Allies to Create a Gender Inclusive Culture." Dr. Johnson is a professor of psychology in the department of leadership, ethics and law at the United States Naval Academy and a faculty associate in the graduate school of education at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Smith is co-author of the book "Good Guys: How Men Can Be Better Allies for Women in the Workplace," and an associate professor at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
