UNMC will celebrate Administrative Professionals Day with a hybrid celebration on April 27.
The event will be online and in-person at the Truhlsen Campus Events Center in the Sorrell Center. Due to current COVID guidelines, attendance at the in-person session is limited.
Each year, Administrative Professionals Day recognizes the key role administrative assistants, receptionists and administrative support professionals play.
"Administrative Professionals Day is another opportunity to show support staff how much they are appreciated for the work they do every day," said Linda Cunningham, UNMC's associate director for human resources.
"Each year, HR works with a committee of dedicated administrative professionals to plan this special event. Our goal is to honor their work and commitment to UNMC with an event that is fun to attend and includes some professional development and networking opportunities."
The theme this year is GREAT — for "goals, responsibility, engagement, attitude and teamwork." Presenters include: Holly Zimmerman, assistant professor in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions and inaugural director of the UNMC Department of Genetic Counseling, freelance writer Darby Whealy and Tony Veland, member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers' 1994 and 1995 national championship teams and Super Bowl XXXII winner.
UNMC administrative professionals, whether attending in person or virtually, must register for the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants who registered must bring their UNMC ID badge to the in-person event to check in.
Employees who plan to attend must register by April 15 in Bridge. Be sure to choose the in-person or virtual presentation option.
