Forum today for senior business officer finalist Mike Ebbs

The fifth of five finalists for the role of UNMC vice chancellor for business, finance and business development, Mike Ebbs, will be on campus today.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to hear from Ebbs and ask questions during a campus forum from noon to 12:45 p.m. Attendees can access the Zoom link via this intranet page.

Ebbs is associate vice chancellor of finance at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He joined UTHSC in 2015, oversees a budget of $600 million and is responsible for the university’s critical budget and financial operations. He also works with campus leaders to execute the university’s strategic plan and enhance the academic, clinical, research and service missions. Previously, he served as the chief financial officer for the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

In addition to Ebbs, finalists include:

  • Bryson Palmer, assistant vice president of operations for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey (member of RWJ Barnabas Health System), who visited March 10.
  • Anne Barnes, senior associate dean for administration and finance at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, who visited March 14.
  • Susan Kraft Mann, interim vice chancellor for business, finance and business development and assistant vice chancellor and director of the office of budget and fiscal analysis at UNMC, who visited March 22.
  • David McCaskill, former chief financial officer of Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, who visited March 23.
