Wilson will speak on the importance of identity in leadership practice. Through a reflection of history and context, Wilson will define the power of leading through a culturally authentic lens. She will empower listeners to embrace and celebrate their leadership journeys. Women, regardless of whether they are formal or informal leaders, must take their seats at the table and empower one another.

Her presentation will be followed with a question and answer session moderated by Shanda Ross, Nebraska Medicine’s director of engagement, outreach and belonging.

Wilson served most recently as assistant vice president for access and inclusive excellence for Auburn University’s Office of Inclusion and Diversity. She advised senior leadership on strategies for advancing a holistic framework for diversity, equity and inclusion. Prior to joining Auburn, Wilson served as director of inclusive student excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Wilson has been active in creating, developing and implementing comprehensive DEI strategies for the past 10 years. As a seasoned administrator, Wilson uses her legal training and insight from her former law practice to have a meaningful and measurable impact on outcomes for historically underrepresented populations. Wilson’s expertise resides in identifying the complex needs of an organization and building tangible pathways for equity-based shifts in organizational climate and culture.
