Name: Alyssa Bursott

Hometown: Pine City, Minnesota

Program/Year: College of Medicine, first year

Education: BS in neuroscience at Creighton University

Hobbies: reading, playing Tetris

What do you do to stay balanced? I make time to go to the gym for a lift, run or a recovery stretch every day. It is my safe space, and it gives me a chance to take care of myself and reset my day. Sometimes it seems like there is not enough time, but I've found that even when I feel the most behind, taking care of myself FIRST does more for me than anything else.

Three things people may not know about me:

I taught myself to write well with both hands to be more efficient.
I haven't been on an airplane since I was around 5.
I collect coffee mugs
