Brandwise closed for the holidays
Looking to rent items for your department such as podium banners, table clothes or easels? Need a logo or template downloaded?
Today is the last day to reach out to the Brandwise team before it no longer takes requests for 2021. During the holiday period, no brand rentals or logos will be available between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1.
All requests must filter through the Brandwise website.
Food trucks
The food trucks outside the Durham Research Towers and at the UNMC Ice Rink will take a holiday break over the next two weeks. Look for the food trucks to return in the new year.
Foundation awards scholarships to Scottsbluff nursing students
Fifteen students enrolled in programs at the UNMC College of Nursing West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff recently received scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year from Regional West Foundation. The foundation awarded a total of $63,750, which included scholarships for other area students in the health professions.
Regional West Foundation Nursing Scholarship: $5,000 – Jessica Valles-Diaz.
Phyllis Gerke Scholarship: $10,000 – Allison Janine Leever; $5,000 – Jessica A. Badje, Madison Bibb and Skylar Johnston; $2,500 – Anna Von Seggern.
Kellet Scholarship: $1,000 – Michelle Hesse and Haley Miller (Schmeichel).
Drawbaugh Scholarship: $1,000 – Alyssa Dishman, Kelsey Tighe and Hannah Rose Fisher.
Harvey Scholarship: $1,000 – Arica McClound, Caitlin Pittman and Kaylea Rising.
Swanson Scholarship: $1,000 – Abigail Rowland.
Retirements announced
Diane "Dee" Acquazzino, of the UNMC Department of Pediatrics-Pulmonary, will retire from UNMC on Dec. 18 after more than 43 years of service at UNMC. She first started working at the university on Sept. 20, 1978.
Acquazzino is the longest tenured of the retirements submitted to the UNMC Department of Human Resources in December. Other retirees this month include:
- Vern Johnson, UNMC Department of Continuing Education, retired Nov. 13. Start date Oct. 13, 1992.
- Ryan Booton, UNMC College of Public Health, retired Dec. 11. Start date Oct. 22, 1992.
- Kristine Claussen, UNMC College of Nursing, retired Nov. 1. Start date Aug. 22, 2007.
- Elizabeth Cullinane, UNMC College of Dentistry, retired Dec. 11. Start date Sept. 17, 2008.
Congrats to all the retirees, but a special shout-out to Dee Acquazzino, who did an amazing job helping children with cystic fibrosis. Enjoy the next chapter, Dee.
