MLK Day celebration will be held virtually Jan. 17

Omaha Public Schools Superintendent Cheryl Logan, EdD, is the featured speaker at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration co-hosted by Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

The 2022 celebration will be held virtually via Zoom on Jan. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. To join the webinar, participants must register in advance.

The theme for the event is, "The Power of Prevention: Building Healthy Communities Through Wellness and the Spirit of Giving."

The first Unsung Hero Award will be presented during the event to a Nebraska Medicine or UNMC employee who demonstrates a positive attitude and professionalism at work; supports the community through volunteerism, service, outreach or encouragement; champions diversity personally and professionally; and displays ITEACH values. 

The deadline to nominate or apply for the award is Dec. 27.
