2021 E-Learning Showcase open now

In lieu of the annual in-person Innovators in Education E-Learning Showcase, the UNMC Office of Interactive E-Learning will celebrate the success of their latest cohort with a digital showcase in Canvas. The Canvas course allows individuals to asynchronously view the new modules and leave messages for the project developers.

“Because we are not able to interact with the project participants face-to-face, we wanted a format where students and faculty could still receive all the positive feedback and interactions they typically get in person at the event,” said Peggy Moore, director of UNMC E-Learning and assistant professor in UNMC’s College of Allied Health Professions. “The Canvas course offers an excellent mechanism to deliver such an interaction at a time that fits into the schedules of our faculty, staff and students.”

New this year, viewers will be able to vote for the top module, and winners will receive special recognition for their extraordinary accomplishments, Moore said.

The course opens today, and voting for the top modules closes on Sunday, April 18. To enroll, sign into the Canvas course.

The projects cover a variety of topics across multiple disciplines, including interprofessional team-based care, diabetes, ethical research in clinical trials, and more.

“It’s exciting to see projects created by teams from across colleges and multiple campuses. The students were particularly creative this year in making the modules engaging for viewers. Some teams used gaming graphics, clinical simulations, or even a medical spa theme to grab and keep the learner’s attention,” Moore said.

The course and showcase booklet highlighting the faculty and student developers can be accessed on the E-Learning website. If you have any questions or are having problems accessing the showcase Canvas course, email the Office of Interactive E-Learning.
