Recipients of this year’s faculty awards have been announced. The Faculty Senate recognizes faculty for meritorious teaching, service or mentoring at its annual meeting, which this year will be held virtually and will be accessible to the UNMC community via Zoom at 3 p.m. on April 15. Profiles of the individual winners will be featured in UNMC Today leading up to the awards event.
This year’s honorees are:
Spirit of Community Service Award
- Charity Evans, MD, associate professor, UNMC Department of Surgery, College of Medicine
- Daniel Johnson, MD, associate professor, UNMC Department of Anesthesiology, College of Medicine
Outstanding Teacher Award
- Justin Siebler, MD, associate professor, UNMC Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, College of Medicine
- Paul Dobesh, PharmD, professor, UNMC Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, College of Pharmacy
Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Junior Faculty Award
- Courtney Fletcher, PharmD, professor, UNMC Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, College of Pharmacy
- Jenny Black, PhD, professor, Eppley Institute
Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Graduate Students Award
- Rakesh Singh, PhD, professor, UNMC Department of Pathology and Microbiology, College of Medicine
