Next ‘Cook On’ demonstration set for March 19

Jacquelynn Schwartz, a Nebraska Medicine dietitian in the Bariatric Center, will be the guest for the next “Keep Calm and Cook On” virtual cooking demonstration on March 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The demonstration will include sweet pea and honey sorbet, toasted walnuts and raspberries.

The 90-minute presentations also will include nutritional information and a live question-and-answer session.

“These demonstrations provide a much-needed antidote to the stress everyone has been under this last year,” said Steven Wengel, MD, assistant vice chancellor for campus wellness for UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). “And even without a pandemic, healthy cooking and eating never is out of style.”

To obtain the Zoom link, register in the Bridge platform (UNMC and UNO) and search for “Keep Calm and Cook On” in the Learning Library. Nebraska Medicine employees can register using ENGAGE.

This event is a joint effort of human resources, the wellness program, medical nutrition and Metropolitan Community College’s Institute for the Culinary Arts’ Open Kitchen.
