Dr. Jarzynka named to College of Medicine admissions role
Kim Jarzynka, MD, has joined the admissions team for the UNMC College of Medicine as the assistant dean for admissions.
“Dr. Jarzynka is a great educator,” said Wendy Grant, MD, associate dean for admissions and student affairs in the UNMC College of Medicine. “She has been a valued member of the admissions committee for several years and has always advocated for our applicants. We welcome her passion for education, her thoughtful insight into what we need as a college and her dedication to the needs of our state.”
Dr. Jarzynka’s responsibilities in her new role will include monitoring and enhancing College of Medicine pathway programs, which include the Rural Health Opportunities Program, the Kearney Health Opportunities Program and the Urban Health Opportunities Program.
Dr. Jarzynka also is the residency program director and vice chairperson of the UNMC Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Jarzynka is from Dodge, Nebraska, and completed her training in family medicine at UNMC. She practiced in Broken Bow before returning to join UNMC as a faculty member.
