A global pandemic, racial unrest, contentious election and natural disasters are just a few of the factors making 2020 one of the most difficult years in modern times.
To help faculty better support students, the UNMC Office of Equity, UNMC Office of Inclusion, UNMC Faculty Development and UNMC Wellness will hold a drop-in faculty help session today (Nov. 4) from 4-5 p.m. via Zoom. The open forum, titled “Dealing with the Post-Election Highs and Lows: Get Help, Give Help,” will enable faculty to exchange ideas on how best to support learners.
The faculty session will not be recorded; registration is not required for the event. Faculty Development emailed the Zoom link to all faculty earlier this week. Questions? Contact: Maggie VanMoorleghem or email facdev@unmc.edu.
UNMC students are invited to participate in a post-election processing fair, hosted by the University of Nebraska at Omaha today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The moderated virtual event will feature various breakout rooms and enable students to express their thoughts on the election results. Students are invited to drop in as their schedules allow. Learn more about the student event.
UNMC staff are invited to participate in a post-election, open reflection session on Nov. 13 from 4-5 p.m. Staff members interested in attending the virtual session should email inclusion@unmc.edu to get added to the event invite.
