MMI’s university awardees recognized

Karoly Mirnics, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute, met in January with some of MMI’s 2019 Silver and Gold U winners at a luncheon to recognize their accomplishments.

Silver U winners Annie Woodruff Jameson, D.P.T., of the MMI Department of Physical Therapy, Rebecca Gilbert of the Human Genetics Laboratory and Sarah Simmons of the MMI Business Department, and Gold U winner Diane Pickering of the Human Genetics Laboratory, joined Dr. Mirnics at the luncheon.

Other MMI 2019 Gold and Silver U awardees met with Dr. Mirnics in November.

The luncheon was held in place of the monthly MMI Standouts luncheon, which honors top MMI performers. The Standouts program currently is being revised and will be re-implemented in 2020.

MMI’s Silver U winners in 2019 were:

  • January: Kari Price, MMI Departement of Education and Child Development;
  • February: Liz Konopasek, D.P.T., MMI Department of Physical Therapy;
  • April: Kristen Hembree, Ph.D., MMI Departement of Psychology;
  • June: Leslie Van Winkle, MMI Department of Speech-Language Pathology;
  • August: Dr. Woodruff Jameson;
  • October: Simmons; and
  • December: Gilbert.

Gold U winners were:

  • Pickering; and
  • Heidi Reelfs, MMI Department of Physical Therapy.
