Re-Imagining U professional development courses set

Re-Imagining U, the collaborative employee training and development program organized by the Human Resources offices at UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, has released its list of spring courses.

Spring courses include some critical skills to build upon and some “deeper dive” topics. The easy-to-use employee benefit is offered at no cost to employees.

The upper-level cohort programs include courses on:

• Navigating Difficult Conversations – This course explores the five steps for dealing with challenging people in an interactive and experiential environment. You will walk away with a strategy for having successful conversations. This is one of the most transformative programs on managing, communicating, and building relationships with difficult people, and it can help participants learn to transform uncomfortable conversations into opportunities for growth.
• Mental Health First Aid for Higher Education – Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare will provide an eight-hour certificate course on how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps participants identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.

To ensure employees can manage their own professional development progress, the registration system tracks all the courses colleagues currently are registered to attend and those that have been completed. Access the Spring 2020 Re-Imagining U Catalog.

Re-Imagining U is an employee benefit that provides UNMC and UNO employees the opportunity to customize their learning and skill development in a way that is right for them. The program is open to all employees at all levels.

Employees are encouraged to get manager approval and to ensure business continuity and office/department needs are met while they are attending training.
