Two years after treatment, cancer patient returns
After traditional therapies weren’t effective, lymphoma patient Nick Howe was one of our first patients to take part in a clinical trial for CAR T-cell therapy. In this kind of treatment, a sample of Howe’s T cells (which are part of the immune system) were taken from his blood, modified to fight his cancer and then reinfused into his body. Howe had clear scans just three weeks after his CAR T-cell treatment, which happened back in 2017. On this day, he awaits results to see if the therapy is still working two years later.
