Health policy, advocacy conference Oct. 12

Interested faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the free Vital Signs of Advocacy: Health Policy Conference on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Hosted by two student groups — Primary Care Progress and UNMC Student Delegates — the free event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the UNMC campus (location to be announced one week prior to the event).

Attendees will learn from government leaders and hospital officials about:

  • Medicaid expansion;
  • Ballot initiatives;
  • Current legislative issues;
  • Mechanisms of government; and
  • How to be a health care advocate.
