Talk about your job and what you like best about it:
I'm an office assistant for the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience. I help out with a lot of projects (travel, grants, purchases, reimbursements), but my main focus is the education of our graduate students. Recruitment of potential students, keeping current students on track, and assisting our courses is my primary focus. I love the feeling of satisfaction at the end of a semester – completed courses, graduating students, and wrapping up loose ends. The feeling of completion is so rewarding.

List four things people may not know about you:

  •  I spent my last summer of college backpacking across Europe with two friends – 18 cities in 12 countries in 90 days. We saved so much money by sleeping in train stations and hostels.
  • I wrote my English undergraduate thesis on Ovid's love poetry from 2 CE (Common Era) and Shakespeare's sonnets from 1609 CE. It devolved into a criticism on interpretation, and how I could say they meant whatever I wanted.
  • I love to dance. It started with Dance Dance Revolution and nightclubs and now it’s in virtual reality and office parties. People are always surprised by my stamina and rhythm, but only when it comes to dancing!
  • I am a huge fan of Anime. I love the variety of themes and genres coupled with the huge animation budgets. It’s stuff that you just can't get in Western TV, but having to read subtitles can be a massive pain!

This is awesome! Reed is a fantastic co-worker and is always willing to pitch in whenever necessary! He is quick witted and has a great sense of humor – which is imperative in our work environment! And yes, he loves to dance – never leaves the dance floor! Congratulations Reed!!!
