Construction to begin on renovation projects

Beginning Monday, June 3, construction of the Wigton Heritage Center and renovation of Wittson Hall will begin, resulting in the dock, tunnel and skywalk to University Tower to be closed until winter of 2020.

Temporary signage will be set up to direct traffic around the construction site. Click here for an image of the alternate route, during this project.

The main entrance to Wittson Hall at 600 S. 42nd Street will remain open until summer of 2020.

The 10,000-square-foot Wigton Heritage Center will celebrate and memorialize UNMC’s history, while also serving as a campus welcome center. In addition, the fully privately-funded project will replace the existing walkways between Wittson Hall and University Tower. The buildings will be connected through a multi-floor space.
