“Hearing Loss and Intervention” will be the topic of the Olson Center Brown Bag Lunch at noon on May 21 in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.
Hearing loss can occur in all ages, and approximately 15% of American adults ages 18 and older report some trouble with their hearing. Audiologist Starla Filippelli of the UNMC Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery will explain how the ear works and the common symptoms of hearing loss. She also will outline treatment options and when hearing aids, BAHAs (bone-anchored hearing aids) and cochlear implants may be helpful.
Pre-register for the brown bag luncheon by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345. Seating is limited.
Bring your lunch and simple refreshments will be provided.
The lectures are free. The cost is $10 to obtain nursing credit; payment instructions will be given when you pre-register.
