Stork’s Nest plans spring sales event
The Stork’s Nest will host a Collective Goods sale Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26, in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium. A variety of books and gifts will be available beginning Monday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Book sale hours the rest of the week will be 7:30 a.m. to 4 on Tuesday, April 23 through Thursday, April 25 and 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 26. The proceeds will be used to purchase items for the Stork’s Nest.

The Stork’s Nest is an incentive program designed to increase the number of women and teens who access early and regular prenatal care and well baby care. The Stork’s Nest mission is to help give babies a healthier start in life. The program also strives to encourage self-esteem and parenting skills by assisting parents to “purchase” products by redeeming points earned through healthy behaviors such as smoking cessation, breastfeeding and completion of educational programs.

The Stork’s Nest is located on the fourth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center, Fontenelle Clinic at 50th and Ames and the Community Health Care Center. Hours vary for each location. For more information about the Stork’s Nest, visit the website or contact Kina Watson-DeBerry at 402-210-8868.

August date set for UNMC barbecue
UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to the “We Are UNMC” barbecue, set for 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza.

Registration open for Lolo’s Angels scavenger hunt

The Lolo’s Angels “Search For the Cure” Scavenger Hunt will be on April 28 at Film Streams’ Dundee Theater from noon-5 p.m. Tickets are $50, and individuals must sign up as a team of four-to-six people to compete for prizes in this “race” to take team pictures near Omaha landmarks and businesses. All proceeds from this event will be donated to local pediatric cancer research, including research at UNMC. For more information or to register, click here.
