Workshop will sharpen investment skills

The UNMC Benefits Office will be hosting a 60-minute TIAA retirement training workshop, “Money at Work 2 — Sharpening Investment Skills.” The training will take place on March 25 from noon-1 p.m.

The training will go over feeling more secure in your savings strategy by verifying you’re on the right track. And if you’re off track, workshop leaders will point out some adjustments for you to consider making. For instance: Are you saving enough? Have you taken taxes into account? Do you have a financial plan — and have you thought about what retirement looks like?

TIAA’s workshop leaders will teach you how to plan your investments and to help you hold on to as much of your nest egg as possible.

  • Get to know your investing personality and how it could impact the way you allocate your assets.
  • Check your savings progress. If you’re not where you need to be, there are ways you can help catch up.
  • See what else you should consider, such as taxes, inflation and what an ordinary day in retirement will look like.

Seating is limited. Unfortunately, this training will not be broadcast or recorded. To register, log on to Employee Service, click on the “Education” tab, then the “Register for Training” link. Under “available events” search “money.” Click on the training below the search bar, and the event details will appear on the right hand side of the screen. Add your information and click the “Register” button. You will receive a confirmation email to your UNMC email address. If you register and then cannot attend, please log in and cancel your registration, so we can offer the seat to the next interested employee.
