Infantile colic study seeking participants

Healthy subjects from 3-16 weeks old are needed to participate in an infantile colic study.

The goal of the study is to see if combining a probiotic Lactobacillus GG and chamomile is helpful in treating infantile colic in exclusively breast-fed infants.

Participation in the study will last five weeks, which includes two visits and one telephone call, and involves:

  • providing a stool sample from your infant at the screening visit and end of study visit if willing;
  • completing a crying diary for one week and then three days per week for the following four weeks;
  • completing quality of life surveys at the screening and end of study visit; and
  • giving your infant five drops of the study product or placebo once a day with the mid-day feeding for four weeks.

Participants must be breast-fed only, be greater than the fifth and less than the 95th percentiles for body mass index and be born at 38-41 weeks gestation.

Please contact Kym Abraham via email if interested in participating or if you have further questions.
