Director’s message: Clinical successes

Holiday traveling season is at an end.

And many of the recipients of the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s clinical services don’t have as far to travel anymore, either. But in terms of delivering quality clinical care, our own journey continues.

Our efforts to expand our services through outstate clinics, telehealth and other delivery models that are less labor-intensive from the caregivers’ perspective have been yielding positive results, as evidenced by the recent opening of a new genetics clinic in Gordon, Neb. and our expanded services in Scottsbluff, North Platte and Kearney.

We have a large rural community in Nebraska, and we have a mandate to serve that population. As we continue to explore new service delivery methods and new technologies, our clinical services are becoming ever more accessible to the families we serve.

But that’s not all. We are also looking at better-quality outcomes for our families, providing more in-depth specialty services around autism, as well as behavioral health, and ever on the lookout for more convenient service delivery methods.

Delivering higher-quality clinical outcomes is a perpetual goal — we’ll always have further to go. But along with the families we serve, we’ll take the journey together — even if many of them don’t have to travel as far as they used to.
