Sen.-elect Tim Gragert, who will represent District 40 in northeast Nebraska in the state legislature when the next session opens in 2019, toured UNMC last week.
Sen.-elect Gragert visited the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit and the iEXCEL Visualization Hub before meeting with UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
“I had heard from others that it’s a heck of a tour, and the amount of work and type of work that’s going on here is just something amazing,” said Sen.-elect Gragert, who was escorted during his visit by Vice Chancellor for External Affairs Bob Bartee.
He added that he was particularly impressed by the iEXCEL technology.
“I’m an individual who is always looking for new ways to do stuff, and I’m really seeing it here today,” he said. “The visit has been a real eye-opener.
“I appreciate the opportunity to visit, and I appreciate the people that work here.”
