Melinda Murdock |
A retirement tea is scheduled in her honor for Dec. 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Private Dining Room C.
Murdock, who joined the department July 1, 1997, looks forward to spending her retired days tending to her pasture and two horses, Joe and Rita. She has been passionate about horses since she was a child. Murdock, who has several published novels and an art degree, also plans to get back into writing and painting.
“I’d rather shovel out horse stalls and dig in the garden than sit in front of a computer, but I will greatly miss my colleagues and the students and their bright, inquiring minds,” Murdock said. “It’s been a wonderful pleasure to help push these kids in the direction they want to go, and make opportunities available to them.”
“Melinda’s dedication to our departmental personnel and special dedication to our educational missions has been invaluable for the past 21 years,” said Bryan Schwahn, vice chairman of administration and finance in the department of anesthesiology. “Her supportive, positive attitude will be missed.”
I will truly miss you Melinda – I have so enjoyed working with you over the years. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement and stop by and visit us occasionally, ok?
Congratulations and best wishes for a wonderful retirement Melinda! Joe and Rita will be happy to have you around a lot more often. Thank you for your many years of dedication and loyalty. You saw anesthesiology grow and become the powerhouse it is today, and you have contributed many things to it’s success along the way.
Congratulations, Melinda. You are one of a kind. Myrna and I look forward to a continuing friendship with you.
Congrats Melissa and enjoy your retirement!!
