Re-Imagining U — the UNMC Department of Human Resources’ employee learning and development program for UNMC and UNO employees to contribute toward ongoing skill development — will begin new cohorts on Sept. 11.
A cohort is a more extensive learning opportunity with tangible outcomes and behavior changes due to the active learning and group application work. Cohorts will meet four times through the semester, once a month, with pre-work and homework from each session that stair step to a transformational outcome.
Phil Covington, Ed.D., assistant vice chancellor for student success at UNO and interim student services director and assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs at UNMC, will lead the “Getting Things Done” cohort, based on the teachings of the David Allen book “Getting Things Done.”
Diane Kortus, employee training and development specialist at UNMC, will lead the “Development 301” cohort, based on Michael Lombardo and Robert Eichinger’s book. “FYI: For Your Improvement.”
There will be a series of open house question-and-answer sessions with Kortus which will provide more information on Re-Imagining U and the upcoming cohorts at:
- 1-2 p.m. today at the Studnt Life Center Center, Room 3013, on the UNMC Omaha campus;
- 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the CEC, Room 128, on the UNO Dodge Street campus; and
- 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the Student Life Center, Room 3013, on the UNMC Omaha campus.
