How I fell in love with nephrology:
I did a nephrology rotation at the VA in Salisbury, N.C., to prepare for internal medicine residency. I was fortunate to have three great nephrology attending physicians who exposed me to the medical complexity of and lifelong relationships that are developed with patients who have kidney disease. I’ve loved it ever since.
