The UNMC Department of Internal Medicine hosted its annual Resident and Fellow Poster Session on May 24 in the Durham Research Center.
More than 30 posters were submitted and judged by three faculty members.
This event, recognizing internal medicine residents and fellows for their research efforts, grew this year in both the number of posters submitted and in attendance of faculty and peers.
Tate Johnson, M.D., was awarded Best Resident Poster for his poster titled “Correlation of the Multi-Biomarker Disease Activity Score with Composite Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity Measures: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.”
Joel Michalski, M.D., Ph.D., won for Best Fellow Poster with his work titled “Ten-Day Decitabine for the Initial Management of Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Older Patients.”
Ted Mikuls, M.D., professor, division of rheumatology and vice chair of research, presented the awards.
