Spring is in the air (well, kind of, maybe?) and campus Earth Month activities are in full swing.
If you are starting to spring-clean but have items that can’t go in the trash, we can help! We want to help you keep your personal information safe and responsibly dispose of items in your home, and I’m happy to report we can do that while recycling!
Please plan to attend our two-day recycling event next week – on Tuesday, April 24, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 25, from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please see our website for complete details.
We will accept:
- Personal electronics to recycle; hard drives will be shredded. Most items will be free, but there will be a nominal cost for tube TVs, CRT monitors and hard drives.
- Don’t forget that reuse is best. If your electronics work, consider donating them. See our website for opportunities.
- Free personal document shredding.
- Free personal single-use, alkaline battery recycling.
- Free ‘techno trash’ (computer disks, CDs/DVD, VHS tapes) shredding and recycling.
- Eyeglasses will be collected for donation to those in need.
- Have pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House? Bring those too!
A UNMC/Nebraska Medicine photo ID will be required to drop items off. We will be in a covered location and will hold event regardless of weather. For more details and a map of the drop-off location, please see our website; it will answer your questions and provide the details you need for drop-off.
If you can’t attend these events, there are a few other options:
- Several member groups have paper shredding events — check personal communications.
- Keep Omaha Beautiful has several neighborhood clean-ups — you can attend any or all.
- Electronics will be collected at Earth Day Omaha this Saturday.
- Pop tabs can be directly taken to the Ronald McDonald House at 38th Avenue and Jones Street.
- Eyeglasses can be taken directly to the Truhlsen Eye Institute.
- If more opportunities arise, we’ll share them on our Facebook page — LiveGreenNebraska.

I’m essentially satisfied with their great work. Shredding is the best idea for destroying the paper document Their shredding system was very professional and well managed. They shred lots of paper within few minutes. We also provide secure paper shredding services and document destruction services.
