The E-Learning Program’s next Innovators in Education Showcase will be held April 10 in the Center for Nursing Science lobby. The event, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., is open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students.
The showcase will highlight the most recent projects funded through the Office of Academic Affairs and feature teams from all seven UNMC colleges. During the showcase, attendees are invited to meet the faculty and student developers and see live demonstrations of the projects.
“It is our intent that attendees can see the projects in action to help them determine opportunities for incorporating the e-modules into their own courses,” said Peggy Moore, director of e-learning.
“Additionally, from the very beginning, project leaders worked with the Interprofessional Academy of Educators and the UNMC Department of Biostatistics to establish a path for educational research and scholarship,” Moore continued. “That means faculty project directors will have support as they study the modules’ efficacy, and a means to evaluate their impact.”
The schedule for the showcase is:
- 11:30 a.m. – Demonstrations of e-learning projects (Nos. 1 through 8)
- 12:30 p.m. – Recognition ceremony
- 1 p.m. – Demonstrations of e-learning projects (Nos. 9 through 18)
The E-Learning Program also will be hosting two educational events prior to the showcase.
“Emerging Technologies Impacting Tomorrow’s Students” takes place on April 9 at 3 p.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 2014. Fresh from presenting this session at the Higher Learning Commission, visiting faculty member Ray Schroeder will lead an engaged discussion to critically review technology trends in relation to preparing students for the future.
“Education in 2028” takes place on April 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 4053. A panel of experts from Stanford University, Elsevier, UNMC and more, will discuss how changes to health care are impacting how we educate health care professionals and what we can expect in the future.
