Chinese Cultural Fair set for Feb. 22

The Sixth Annual Chinese Cultural Fair will be held Feb. 22, from 3-5 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Commons.

UNMC faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dog, there will be food and tea tasting, performances (starting at 3:40 p.m.) and informational displays.

Additionally, visitors can try traditional Chinese handicrafts such as papercutting and knot tying, and Chinese shuttlecock and cuju (Chinese soccer) games. They also can have their names written in Chinese characters.

There are giveaways of small bookmarks to the first 200 attendees and a drawing for other donated door prizes. Prizes are sponsored by a donation from the UNMC Chinese Students and Scholars Association.

The Chinese Cultural Fair is coordinated by the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program and UNMC’s China Scholarship Council students. It is co-sponsored by the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program, HR-Employee Relations, Organizational Development & Diversity and the UNMC Chinese Students and Scholars Association.
