Candice Chen, M.D., director of the Division of Medicine and Dentistry in the Bureau of Health Workforce at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will give a special guest presentation, “HRSA 101,” at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in Room 3013 of the College of Public Health..
The Division of Medicine and Dentistry funds programs to enhance training in primary care, oral health and geriatrics, and provides support for graduate medical education in children’s hospitals and teaching health centers.
Prior to joining HRSA, Dr. Chen was an assistant research professor in the department of health policy in the School of Public Health and Health Services at the George Washington University, where she studied the role of medical education in producing a health workforce matched to the needs of communities.
She is a board-certified pediatrician. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and her master’s degree in public health from the George Washington University with a concentration in community-oriented primary care.
