Medical Student Michael Price Presents at Gordon Research Seminar

Michael Price, a third-year MD/PhD student, was selected to give an oral presentation at a Gordon Research Seminar for Cilia, Mucus and Mucociliary Interactions in Galveston, Texas, earlier this year. His presentation was titled “Redox Activation of Airway Cilia-Localized Protein Phosphatase 1 Drives Alcohol-Induced Ciliary Dysfunction."

At the meeting, Price was elected to chair the 2019 Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Cilia, Mucus and Mucociliary Interactions. The GRS is the trainee-focused portion of the Gordon Research Conference on the same topic.

His work is funded by the National Institutes of Health through an NRSA F30 grant awarded to Price. He has been working in the lab of Joe Sisson, MD, chief, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Allergy.
