Lookin’ at U: Tiffany Tunney

Tiffany Tunney

Every Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee.

Today we meet:

  • Name: Tiffany Tunney
  • Hometown: Fullerton, Neb.
  • No. of years at UNMC: Three years

Tell us about what you do at the med center.

In the radiology administrative office, I put together tumor board packets for our radiologists, answer phones, do laundry, make coffee, create bills, etc. I love that I have so many hats to wear; I’m never bored. I also am assistant to eight of our radiologists.

“Courage” is one of our ITEACH values. Tell us about a time you’ve witnessed courage at the med center.
I witness courage and innovation daily as our staff members think outside of the box and dare to do things differently. They have worked tirelessly to establish and cultivate good relationships with referring providers, working together toward the best possible outcomes for their patients. I am blessed to work with a group of people that truly strive toward our goal of extraordinary care.

What are your favorite summer activities?
Gardening, camping and I just love roasting marshmallows and making smookies (s’mores made with cookies) in my backyard fire pit.

Three things you may not know about me:

  • I love helping people budget and giving them hope for financial wellness. The normal paycheck-to-paycheck way of living is broken. Most do not realize that managed money has more muscle.
  • My husband and I have five kids (ages 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12). They are the tiny-Tunney-tribe and the lights of my life. I also have a part-time job at a Hy-Vee deli.
  • I love, love homesteading, and I make my own laundry soap.

Tiffany assisted me with a large project last year that encompassed 3 different departments. She was so unbelievably helpful and so patient! Tiffany rocks!
