I enjoy teaching and the critical need for rural primary physicians across the state.

What challenges do you foresee in graduate medical education in the future: 

Stable funding sources, recruiting resilient residents to meet the complex health care needs of society.

What are the strengths of your training program:

Rural hospitals and volunteer faculty, committed residents

List some accomplishments that you are proud of:

We have a fully accredited program with no citations, which is almost unheard of in a multi-site site rural training track.

Our graduates have provided more than 700 physician years of practice to rural Nebraska.

Tell us three things about you that others may not know:

I planned on living in Omaha only four years when I started medical school, and I’ve now lived here 34.

I drove an 18-wheeler in college and medical school to pay the bills.

Rural Nebraska is my favorite place to be.
