Chronic pain the focus of April Brown Bag Lunch event

Giuseppe (Joe) Siracusano, D.P.T., of the Nebraska Medicine Pain Management Program, will speak on chronic pain and provide an introduction to the non-pharmaceutical and non-surgical treatment of chronic pain at the next Olson Center Brown Bag Lunch event, to be held at noon on April 18 at the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

Chronic pain has resulted in significant impact on our nation. The general population has demanded pain relief while being frightened by the problems and death rates related to long-term opioid use.

The medical profession has been divided at the ground level regarding the best strategies to address this issue; being polarized by the strategies of opioid/narcotic abstinence and traditional allopathic solutions including the utilization of alternate medications and/or the use of pain medicine surgical interventions.

Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 559-6345. Bring your lunch. Simple refreshments will be provided.

The lectures are free, but cost is $10 to obtain nursing credit, and payment instructions will be given when you pre-register.
