Sessions explore new employee assistance program

On Sept. 1, Arbor Family Counseling, an Omaha-based counseling services provider, began administering UNMC’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

This collaboration with Arbor will allow UNMC to provide an array of added services for our employees, including more counselors, on-site and off-site locations, a secure Web presence, multilingual interpreter services, monthly e-flyers and an e-newsletter addressing topics related to the workplace and employee well-being.

Beginning on Monday, managers/supervisors and employees will be able to attend a series of on-site and/or e-training sessions to help orient them to the services offered by EAP for optimal use of the employee assistance program. These sessions will cover:

  • confidentiality;
  • the various services that can be accessed through the program;
  • the number of free sessions per incident;
  • onsite services;
  • the various professional counselors at Arbor;
  • services available for employees and family members; and
  • 24-hour availability.

This overview will also cover how to access EAP using the phone, website and Web-Ex.
