Student spotlight – Meet Margaret Taylor

Margaret Taylor

Education is one of the four pillars of UNMC’s mission and our students are the lifeblood of that aspect of campus life.

In UNMC Today’s Student Spotlight, we get to know some of these students, who will become tomorrow’s health care professionals.

Today we meet:

  • Name: Margaret Taylor
  • Hometown: Des Moines
  • Program/Year: Cancer Research Graduate Program, second year

List three songs on your playlist.

  • “Radioactive,” Imagine Dragons
  • “On My Way Home,” Pentatonix
  • “Hurricane,” Halsey

What sparked your interest in research?
I fell in love with the idea of discovery, of finding out something that no one else has ever known. And for that one moment, I am the only person out of 7 billion that knows that thing. Also, the work done in the field of cancer will be able to help a lot of people.

Your favorite study snack is:
Coffee

Your favorite app is:
Pandora Radio

Three things people may not know about you:

  • I’m planning this year’s Holi celebration, and I think it’s going to be a blast!
  • I’m fluent in Sarcasm.
  • I rock out in lab when no one else is there.
