COM student of the month – Meet Morgan Dornbos

Morgan Dornbos

Editor’s Note: Each month, InterCOM will highlight a "Student of the Month" from the College of Medicine. Students will be featured for their participation in activities outside of medical school and for making a difference in the community. The goal is to recognize students for what they are doing and to encourage other students to get involved in the community. After all, medical school should be much more than studying.

Name: Morgan Dornbos (I just got married this summer, so my last name is no longer Jacobi!)

Hometown: Hastings, NE

Program/Year: Medicine, year 2

Education: University of Nebraska-Lincoln (nutrition science degree)

Activities:

M2 alumni representative

Primary Care Progress

Pediatric Interest Group

Catholic Medical Association

AMWA

Hobbies:

Running, playing piano, coffee, cooking, crosswords and shopping.

Staying Balanced:

I try to make time every day to hit the running trails, cook dinner, and relax with my husband. In addition, I take advantage of extra time to decompress on the weekends, because I struggle if I don't take time to pursue the things I love. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our families and friends, watching sports, and exploring all that Omaha has to offer.

Three things people don't know about me:

I am one of six children and enjoyed growing up in a large family.

I have always loved being around kids, and I hope to practice medicine as a pediatric sub-specialist of some sort.

My favorite TV show is "The Office."
