Wellness: CFHL offers fitness classes, videotapes

In addition to cardio and strength-training equipment, the Center for Healthy Living also offers various fitness and exercise classes during the week.

“Our fitness classes are designed to provide a fun and friendly experience,” said Peter Pellerito, fitness specialist at the Center for Healthy Living. “They are scheduled throughout the week and in various locations to make it easier for members of the UNMC community to take part.”

Classes are free for members of the center. Non-members must pay a $7 drop-in fee.

The schedule of classes is:

Mondays:
5-6 p.m.: Plyo circuit, Center for Healthy Living
5:45-6:30 p.m.: Zumba, Center for Healthy Living

Tuesdays:
5-6 p.m.: Yoga, College of Public Health, third floor

Wednesdays:
Noon-1 p.m.: Yoga, Sorrell Center, Room 2001
5-6 p.m.: Plyo circuit, Center for Healthy Living
5:45-6:30 p.m.: Zumba, Center for Healthy Living

Thursdays:
5-6 p.m.: Yoga, College of Public Health, third floor

“In addition to the classes, we also have aerobic videotapes,” Pellerito said. “Our titles include popular workout videos, including P90X and Insanity, and are available to members as well.”
