For the past several years, the UNMC Department of Public Relations has been creating brief one-minute videos each week for KETV (Ch. 7) in Omaha. The videos feature UNMC faculty as they answer basic questions of interest to the average viewer. The segments run on KETV’s morning newscasts on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. They also are distributed to other Nebraska TV and radio stations after they air on Ch. 7.
Here’s a sampling of four of the videos:
Video 1: Kristin Rooney, M.D., obstetrics/gynecology, “Who is at risk for bowel control problems and how is it treated?”
Video 2: Shikhar Saxena, M.D., cardiology, “What advice do you have on eating for a healthy diet?”
Video 3: Alison Freifeld, M.D., infectious diseases, “What are the different types of diseases spread by ticks?”
Video 4: Gib Willett, Ph.D., genetics, cell biology and anatomy, “What should I do when I get sore muscles following a workout?”
