Faculty from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry will travel to Grand Island, North Platte and Scottsbluff to provide education to dental health professionals on new advancements in pediatric dentistry and preparing oral health profession students for the future of oral health practice.
The annual UNMC College of Dentistry Dental Education Caravan will feature presentations by:
Janet Guthmiller, D.D.S., dean and professor – “Igniting the Minds of Our Future Oral Health Professionals;” and
Jill Wallen, B.D.S., assistant professor – “Updates in Pediatric Dentistry.”
Dean Guthmiller also will give an update on education, research, patient care and outreach activities at the college. Merlyn Vogt, D.D.S., assistant professor in the department of surgical specialties will introduce the speakers. Those who attend will receive 3.5 hours of free continuing dental education credit.
Both speakers will be available for media interviews following the presentations.
The programs will run from 1 to 5 p.m. at each of the following locations:
May 12 – North Platte, Quality Inn & Suites;
May 13 – Scottsbluff, Harms Advanced Technology Center at Western Nebraska Community College; and
May 14 – Grand Island, Quality Inn & Suites.
